The NetWORKS… Engineering Design Management application provides engineering work print and design process management capabilities.

With EDM a telecom engineer can define an engineering work order for new designs or a repair/maintenance order. All telecom cables (fiber, copper, coax), equipment, and structures are tracked and promoted through each design activity from Proposed to Final Post.

To optimize the design process, Engineering Design Management supports the creation of alternative designs and complex "what-if" scenarios.

Work Order activities are organized into a workflow. A workflow is a sequence of activities defining an overall design process and authorization. You can define as many workflows as necessary depending on the number of processes you need. When a work order is completed the changes are posted to the database and made permanent.

NetWORKS Engineering Design Management includes:

  • Version Management and Long Transaction technology to manage work orders
  • What-if scenarios that can be created to establish temporary designs
  • Each facility is managed through the design process and reflects its current state
  • Bill of Materials reports are used to determine the cost of a specific design
