NetWORKS 4.0 on ArcGIS 9

Markham, ON, Canada, July 11, 2005 - The Asset Management Division of Enghouse Systems Limited (TSX:ESL) is pleased to announce the release of NetWORKS 4.0. The NetWORKS product portfolio continues to meet the Outside Plant and Inside Plant network design and network management requirements of Utility Telecoms, Municipal Telecoms, Independent Telecoms, and Cable TV companies.

NetWORKS 4 is a major release which includes new functionality, productivity tools, and performance improvements for all modules: FiberWORKS, CopperWORKS, CoaxWORKS, ISP, Structures Management, and Engineering Design Management. NetWORKS 4 is the first release to support ESRI's ArcGIS 9.

Key enhancements include:

  • Support for multi-domain, blended networks that include a mixture of fiber, copper, coax, and RF Tower infrastructure.
  • End-to-end, bi-directional, and seamless tracing of physical and logical network elements within a multi-domain network.
  • Rule Base Manager provides a Graphical User Interface for maintaining the NetWORKS rule base.
  • Visualize duct capacity as a user defined map theme.
  • User defined Engineering Design Management workflows let users define a specific process for managing a work order through each design activity.
  • Work Order Permissions let the administrator control and manage user access to work orders.
  • Performance improvements to trace and reports.
  • Copper pair line of count representation, throw, connections, and tracing.

NetWORKS 4 based on ArcGIS 9 enables telecommunication companies to document and manage complex, multi-domain networks. NetWORKS can help maximize network resources, increase workflow, enhance customer service, and improve network reconfiguration. NetWORKS provides both Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) design, network management, and facilities management capabilities within an integrated ArcGIS 9 platform. It’s open, interoperable and web deployable architecture can interface with existing enterprise applications such as Work Force Management, Customer Information Systems, Network Monitoring Systems, and others.
