ENGHOUSE EXPANDS
NetWORKS
SPATIAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS

Markham, ON, Canada, Sep. 30, 2002 - Enghouse Systems Limited (TSX:ESL) announces the release of FiberWORKS 2.1 , the fiber component of the NetWORKS product portfolio.

FiberWORKS 2.1 constitutes Enghouse's continued expansion of its integrated NetWORKS product portfolio. NetWORKS allows operating companies to modularly structure their Management and Control systems to meet their specific operating needs by adding NetWORKS capabilities, such as copper, coax, and wireless as required.

FiberWORKS provides design, network analysis, facilities and network management capabilities demanded by today's evolving communication environment. FiberWORKS is the ideal solution for companies strategically participating in communications who need to design and manage fiber networks, assets and capacity, including Telecom, CATV, and Electric Utilities.

FiberWORKS is an essential component of a communication or utility company's overall Spatial Information Management and Operational Support Systems (OSS) requirements. FiberWORKS 2.1 is a major upgrade that includes the following features and benefits:

  • Dynamic fiber design and usage efficiencies, thereby managing and minimizing design and construction costs

  • Improved management and control of fiber cable deployment and assignment

  • Ongoing network asset and records management including bandwidth management for long-term growth and quality of service delivery

  • Improves fiber management by timely reporting of spare and existing fibers that can be assigned to new and existing clients

  • Easy access to network information via reports and enterprise application integration
The FiberWORKS roadmap provides access to data on deployments, costs, potential revenue, target market sales opportunities, quick design turn-around, basic return on investment data, as well as the opportunity to integrate design, sales, dispatch applications, billing, and customer service while profitably and reliably managing your fiber network.

NetWORKS was conceived to address the new complexity of converging networks. Developed specifically for ArcGIS 8.2 from ESRI Inc., optimal advantage is realized through an open-architecture platform for interfacing to existing enterprise applications such as Work Force Management, Customer Information Management Systems, Network Monitoring Systems, and others. The NetWORKS suite of applications includes design and network management capabilities for Outside Plant (OSP), Inside Plant (ISP), and Duct infrastructure.
