Enghouse Systems Limited Announces an Additional $6 Million License sale to IBM, for the Telecommunications Market Rapid deployment of the world’s largest GIS application for the Telecommunications industry, based on GeoNet™ core technology, drives new order. Markham, Canada - (January 6th, 2000) - Enghouse Systems Limited [TSE: ESL] is pleased to announce that it has completed an agreement with IBM for the supply of additional GeoNet™ licenses. This CDN$6 million order is in addition to the approximately CDN$12 million order from IBM recently announced on October 6,1999. Enghouse’s Chairman, Claudette MacKay Lassonde said, "This new order under our contract with IBM, combined with the remaining backlog of the October 1999 order, is expected to generate approximately CDN$14.5 million in license revenues in fiscal 2000. The size of this deal, the massive accumulated number of end-user licenses, and the momentum of the rapid project roll-out is significant to Enghouse because it underscores the acceptance, scalability and ease of deployment of the GeoNet™ platform. Clearly, GeoNet™ is the world’s leading GIS core engine for the growing Telecommunications industry." Ms MacKay Lassonde, stated, "We are very pleased with the evolution of our relationship with IBM and their customers – one of the largest telecommunication companies in the world. Enghouse has listened and responded to our partners needs through the enhancement of GeoNet™. This has enabled IBM to deploy our software faster and into more departments than we originally anticipated within this timeframe. The outcome has generated greater awareness of our additional products and, the assistance of IBM and their customer in the development of our web solution, SpatialEXPRESS™." GeoNet™ allows users to manage complex networked facilities through the integration of spatial technology with leading commercial relational database management systems (RDBMS), a graphical user interface, and an open architecture.
